Here’s a little fact for you: I have never been outside of Canada. I have traveled all over Canada; visiting Quebec, British Columbia, Ontario, but I have never stepped onto the land of another country. I dream of going to Australia, Africa, Europe and even Canada’s neighbors to the south, good ol’ United States of ‘Merica.
When I dream of traveling, I dream of going to remote, untouched places. I know that the Eiffel Tower in Paris is beautiful, that the Empire State Building in New York is breathtaking, but for some reason I have absolutely no desire to visit those places. When I travel I want to experience the city as if I am a local, visiting the local shops and eating at the local restaurants. I don’t want to spend my time fighting the crowds of tourists, I want to explore the hidden parts of the city. Like so many other people in this world I have caught the wanderlust spirit, but for now the dream of back packing across South America is not plausible. Hopefully one day I will be able to experience the world, and venture beyond the border of Canada.
