If you are on Instagram then you know how on trend it is to have a marble phone case, as most of you know I already have a few, so when CaseApp contacted me a few weeks ago and asked if I would like to be sent a few I of course said YES! Now when it comes to these fashionable iphone cases I find that they aren’t actually that protective ( I mean, when is anything in fashion practical right? ) but LEGIT this phone case saved my phone!
I am an extremely clumsy and klutzy person, I have had my fair share of injuries ( knock on wood ), so these fashionable phone cases probably aren’t the best idea for some one like me, who is constantly dropping their phone. So last week as I was walking down the stairs my phone decided to leap from my hands and crash onto the tile flooring below ( it actually did jump…I swear I had nothing to do with it. ). Of course I thought I was done for, but when I finally brought up the courage to pick up my phone IT WAS COMPLETELY FINE! Not a scratch on it, and the phone case was still beautiful in all it’s marble glory.
Now, I am not saying that you should throw your phone down the stair to test this theory. I am just telling you why I am so impressed with this brand and that you should use my 20% off discount code ( ‘ALITTLEDETAIL20’ ) to buy one of their already beautiful designs or customize your own iPhone case!
Happy almost weekend!
*Thank you CaseApp for sending me this wonderful case*
The water in developing countries is typically unsafe, filled with bacteria & parasites that can be very harmful to human beings. In developing countries the women are the leaders of their communities, and without safe drinking water they are at risk for contracting serious illnesses and the community can become trapped in a cycle of poverty. To help break the cycle, and to help provide safe drinking water to impoverish communities, Mejuri will be donating 30% of each sale of the Mejuri pure 14k gold evil eye ring and the 925 sterling silver ring to The Her Initiative.
The Her Initiative works with the leaders of the local communities, helping to teach them business skills, safe water operations/maintenance and proper health/hygiene. The water purification systems that The Her Initiative implements not only provides safe, clean drinking water to the communities but it also helps to store and conserve water, which is vitally important in the communities with limited access to any source of water. The water purification system provided by The Her Initiative also helps to provide an income, helping to make the program economically viable and sustainable.
The Her Initiative and the #MeforHER campaign believes in women empowerment and what can be accomplished when we, as women, stand together and help each other. By buying a Mejuri 14k gold evil eye ring or the 925 sterling silver ring you are helping a community in a developing country simply by encouraging another women to become healthier, stronger and more informed in ways that will help their communities grow.

Even though it is technically spring, and in theory the birds should be singing, the flowers blooming and the sun shining, that doesn’t mean that the odd day isn’t spent in bed with a cozy new knit because there is a storm brewing outside. Although the weather has been quite wonderful these last few weeks the last few days have been very dreary and very windy so I have spending a great deal of time curled up in bed with my cozy cable knit sweater and a cup of tea.

For me home is Edmonton, Alberta, a place that I believe is extremely under rated when it comes to Canadian Cities. Everyone always talks about the Rocky Mountains when referring to Alberta, and don’t get me wrong, I love the mountains but we have so much more to offer than just beautiful scenery! Below I have listed my top 5 favourite things about Edmonton
The Hotel Macdonald is a landmark for Edmonton, standing proudly in the heart of the city since 1915. It features a beautiful garden in the back of the hotel with an amazing view of the North Saskatchewan River and features a restaurant that offers a delicious brunch.
If you ever visit Edmonton you must pop by Duchess Bake Shop to taste some of their amazing pastries. Every Edmonton native knows that if you want to treat yourself to a little something sweet, Duchess Bake Shop is the place to go! I highly suggest trying their Ginger Cookie and Hot Chocolate!
Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, Hawrelak Park offers an amazing escape from the city. Situated in Edmonton’s River Valley the park features an open grassy area, home to many festivals and events throughout the year, and a lake which offers paddle boating in the summer and skating in the winter.
The West Edmonton Mall features not only countless stores, but also hosts a fully operating amusement park, ice rink, water park and a marine life show where you can pay to get a picture taken with a cute sea lion.
You want a good cup of coffee with aesthetically pleasing latte art? Look no further than Credo Coffee House! Featuring great atmosphere in an upbeat and urban section of Edmonton, Credo Coffee offer delicious Lattes, Mocha’s and Hot Chocolates all with Instagram worthy latte art.
I hope that you enjoyed reading this post and learning a little bit more about my home town! If you are looking for a place to visit this summer look no further than Edmonton, Alberta. We may not look like much, but we have a lot to offer!

A compilation of random photos taken during the month of February
After searching for what seems like forever ( okay maybe just a month, but I am an extrememly impatient person ) I have finally found the perfect White Hand Bag that I have been searching for! I found it at Call It Spring, and I must say that their selection of handbags is just amazing! I had such a hard time choosing which one I wanted to purchase but decided on the Return Crossbody Bag in Bone, but trust me I will be back to buy more ;)
Also this month I have been crushing on wood accessories, and I have been very blessed this month to have received a gorgeous Watch from JORD Wood Watches ( styled Here ) and a Wood IPhone Case from The WTFactory. And since this month featured Valentines Day, and because I am #foreversingle, my parents gifted me this beautiful necklace made by a local jewelry designer. Thanks Mom and Dad!
Last but not least I just wanted to show you all what makeup I wear on a day to day basis. I have always used natural makeup as there are so many dangerous and damaging chemicals in conventional makeup that can have harmful effects on any individual. My personal favorite brands to use are Jane Iredale and BareMinerals, but there are a variety of natural makeup brands to choose from. If you want to learn more about the dangers of makeup please click the links Here & Here
*Please note that there are also some dangers associated with using Mineral Makeup and it is simply my personal opinion to use mineral based makeup. Please educate yourself and make the decision that you feel most comfortable with*

I cannot believe that 2015 is already over, it feels like I blinked and an entire year has just come and gone. 2015 was full of new and exciting things for me, I celebrated 1 year of blogging, invested in a brand new, high quality camera, I changed my blog name from ‘Sneakers In Snow’ to ‘A Little Detail’ and my insta-family grew to include so many amazing and supportive friends. 2015 was full of new opportunities and projects that I was so blessed to work on, I had the privilege of collaborating with many different companies and I teamed up with my mom to release the The Joy Collection ( keep an eye out for BRAND NEW designs, coming soon! ).
I have grown in confidence and have finally found the things that I have been passionate about: fashion & health. 2015 was a year of discovery as I found what makes me smile, laugh and cry, I realized who my true friends are and I have even made some new ones along the way. I am content with where I am at in my life, I no longer feel as though I have to be checking my social media 24/7, I no longer worry about the number of followers I have, and I no longer compare myself to others.
Through my blog and social media I have been blessed enough to meet so many amazing people and connect with people not only in my own town, but from around the world. I am amazed everyday that I have been able to make friends with people who live across the world, and I am also amazed every single day about the amount of love and support that you all have given to me in the last year. I don’t think I can say it enough but thank you, I cherish every single like, comment, re-tweet and re-gram I have ever received.
So thank you again for everything, you all have made 2015 a year to remember and I cannot wait to see what happens in 2016!
Happy New Year with all my love,
